Taking Climate Action Now

Aakash Ranison is one of Global Impact Network’s 100 Ambassadors not only because he raises awareness, but because he acts. Because he writes. Because he cares.

On Aakash’s website you see the following sentence:

“Hi, I’m Aakash Ranison. I’m 25 and two things keep me going: my wanderlust to explore the world and my desire to work for climate change.”

Naturally, we were taken by the fact he was soft-spoken, yet outspoken. He is the type of person that opens up your eyes to the unfortunate truth — that we have all the information and resources out there, but we lack participation and motivation to pursue that. So when he mentioned to us he is publishing a book, naturally, we couldn’t wait to read it and spread it around — it’s not only a gift quite literally as it’s free, but it is also very thoughtfully written — it’s not only for people who are into sustainability and know the language, it’s for all of us, no matter where we are in our journey and what is happening around.

We wanted to pay special attention to his main messaging:

We are privileged and honoured to be featured in his website as a fellow climate warrior, but what matters to us most is that there are people like him determined to take sustainability further. Determined to not only stop at awareness, at hashtags, at beautiful photos (despite him doing that very well too) — but continue on a journey that changes one’s life forever, in more ways than one.

If you can do one thing in the week following Earth Week, it is to read his book and check him out. Because Earth Week is every week, and it’s sustainable when it’s forever, when we spread the mission wide.
